Preschool Objectives

Countryside United Methodist Preschool, Inc. is concerned with the welfare of the total child.  The program strives to provide an environment which is conducive to physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual development.  The curriculum is designed to nurture each child in a positive self-concept and healthy feeling of trust in God and others.  The program revolves around developmentally appropriate practices.  PLAY is the language of preschoolers; it is there “work”.  The play at CUMPS is to stimulate interest and curiosity about God’s world.  Curriculum is presented through active, hand-on learning experiences.  The atmosphere is relaxed and informal with an emphasis on the process of doing and creating rather than a completed product.  The children are encouraged to play in a challenging environment.  They can learn through exploration, experimentation, and creative expression of ideas and feelings.
